Li Jie
Most of my IB Maths work is with AA students who are fine in class until calculus or proof turns up. Lessons are practical: we sort out the method, then spend time on the kinds of questions that usually cost marks. I also help with exploration ideas when students are stuck on what makes a workable IA. If you like seeing where mistakes come from instead of just redoing sums, we’ll probably get on well.

I’m an IB English tutor and I mainly work with students who need help turning decent ideas into sharper essays. A lot of our time goes into commentary structure, choosing evidence properly, and making language analysis sound precise rather than vague. I also support IO planning and HL essays, especially when students know the texts but are not sure how to shape an argument that actually holds together.


Xin Yan
My IB Biology lessons are usually a mix of clear content review and plenty of practice with data, experiments and longer responses. I enjoy teaching genetics, human physiology and ecology, but I’m just as happy helping someone untangle the basics before mocks. I often work with students on IA write-ups too, especially where the method is fine but the evaluation and handling of variables still need to be explained more clearly.

I have been teaching IB Chemistry for several years, with most students coming to me for HL support, practical write-ups and last-stage exam preparation. My lessons are structured and direct. We focus on the chemistry first, then on how answers are rewarded. I also help with IA planning, data processing and uncertainty, which is often where capable students lose marks without realising it until the final papers.

I tutor IB Psychology with a strong focus on essay writing, studies and the small bits of terminology that examiners notice straight away. Many of my students know the content but are unsure how to organise SAQs and ERQs under time pressure, so that is something we practise a lot. I particularly like teaching biopsychology and research methods, and I’m happy to help with the IA from planning through to discussion.

I’ve taught IB Economics long enough to know that diagrams are usually where understanding either settles or falls apart. My lessons are built around that. We look closely at how theory, chains of reasoning and evaluation fit together so essays stop sounding generic. I regularly help with commentary structure as well, especially for students who know the article but are unsure what the examiner wants them to do with it.

Most students who come to me for IB Business Management want a clearer, more sensible way of approaching the course. We spend time on case study technique, using the tools properly, and writing answers that actually address the command term. I also help with the IA, especially research questions and choosing supporting data. The subject gets much easier once the structure starts to make sense and the examples start landing properly.

I’m an IB Geography tutor and I like working with students who enjoy the subject but get stuck when they have to turn case study knowledge into exam answers. We cover the content carefully, but I also spend a lot of time on map, graph and resource questions because that is where marks quietly disappear. I can also help with the fieldwork write-up and the IA, especially the methods and evaluation sections.

For IB History, most students come to me for help with Paper 2 essays, source analysis and keeping arguments tight under timed conditions. I’m especially comfortable with modern world history topics, but the main thing I focus on is getting students to write with precision rather than just pile on facts. I also support the historical investigation, from narrowing the question to improving section-by-section structure.

I tutor IB TOK and most of my work is with students who have plenty to say but need help turning that into a clear argument. We usually focus on framing knowledge questions properly, using examples that actually do some work, and keeping the essay or exhibition from becoming too descriptive. I especially enjoy the parts of TOK where philosophy meets real-world issues, so sessions tend to be thoughtful, focused and very practical.
